Warranty
For 17 years and over 8200 installations our goal is to achieve excellence. We strive to answer the phone, return all calls in a timely manner, provide accurate bids on-site and work with our clients to deliver the best possible product to suit our customer needs. Under optimal circumstances we can off the longest warranty on the island-6 years! Our first visit to your job site is free and your opportunity to ask any questions you may have regarding your gutter installation.
From day one, we try to have someone available to receive your phone call or email and at the very least return missed calls in a timely manner. Our knowledgeable staff can usually answer most questions over the phone. If a site visit is deemed necessary, one of our experienced installers can generally do a walk –around at your residence and provide a written quote within a day or two of completing the tour. On this visit we can offer guidance in requests to gutter size, downspout placement and debris removal systems.
Items affecting your price and warranty include:
Height of structure
The ground around our structure (for ladder placement)
Fascia- or lack there of
Complex corners
Service location
Roof type – drip edge
Complexity of downspouts
Types of material used
Rules of thumb:
One downspout for every 1,000 sq. ft of roof or every 45-50 linear feet of gutter.
Schedule 40 pipe under sidewalks and any piping away from the foundation.
A clean-out (threaded plug) should be installed along the stem line to your catchment tank, ideally at the lowest location. This affords you the opportunity to drain your line of stagnant debris as well as allowing you a convenient way to prevent debris from entering your tank when you pressure wash your roof or gutters.
Copper is a metal and not a color. If you order copper gutters we make no claim or guarantee as to what color your gutters will become. Exposed gutter does not stay shiny.
Troubleshooting:
If water is flowing over the front lip of the gutter:
This is a sure-tell sign that there is debris in your gutter or a blockage at your downspout.
Solutions: keep trees trimmed back away from the roof of your house. Install Leaf Eaters to reduce debris. This does not prevent maintenance but can reduce the amount of maintenance needed to your gutters.
If water is flowing behind gutter:
The main reason this happens is when the roof pitch is too shallow or the roof does not have the proper overhang. A roof should run 1 ½ to 2 ½ inches past the fascia.
Solutions: Shallow roofs or roofs with drip-edge (metal flashing that slides under your room and into the gutter) will help reduce the amount of water that gets behind the gutter. A drip-edge is not 100% guarantee; it is simply a way to reduce the probability of this happening.
Electrolysis:
This is something that occurs when two different metals come into contact with one another. For instance, when copper and aluminum touch, there is a chemical reaction between the two metals that causes one or both of the metals to disintegrate or decay.
Re-models:
Tying into existing groundwork or existing downspouts. Often times old gutter systems will fail well before the downspouts. In this case, we can come in and install new aluminum gutters that tie into your existing pipes. When we do this you should be sure there are no obstructions in your existing pipes. If you have a hose, we will happily check your system for you. If you guarantee that your pipes are clear and we do an installation, then this is not covered under warranty.
We do not carry a snake and will not go digging around to try to locate the source of blockage. If pipes are exposed, we could cut pipes to find obstruction at clients expense for labor.
Components of the 6 year warranty:
A plumb 2x fascia: The fascia board is the most important facet of a gutter system. It offers the strength to support the gutter and its hardware during rains. Having a 2x fascia board allows us to use our longer sturdier screws during installation. If you only have a 1x fascia board, our long screws will penetrate the back of the wood and our short screws offer much less support.
Regular gutter maintenance: If you have plants growing in your gutter , this is causing undue stress on the gutter and potentially causing the wooden fascia that supports the gutter to rot from water overflowing in the gutter and roots using your wood as a medium to grow roots. Keep those trees trimmed and keep those gutters clean!
Maintenance Calls:
We are a Gutter Installation company. We do not prioritize repairs, and we do not clean gutters. If we have recently completed an installation for you and you insist on us returning to troubleshoot or fix an issue that is not due to our workmanship, there will be a $250 service charge. We pride ourselves on our work and will happily come rectify a problem that is due to our negligence, but it is important for you to do your own troubleshooting first.
